Drinking water is part of our every day routine, yet it requires a lot of infrastructure to be available on demand in good condition. DCG has a variety of experience in well, resevior and water systems that help bring fresh, clean drinking water to the tap.

Water System Improvements Planning, Design and Construction Phase - Langley, Washington

Bayview Beach Water DistrictDCG was contracted to provide design and construction phase engineering services for the water system improvements project which included distribution system replacement and a new 200 gallon per minute iron and manganese treatment facility. The water main replacement involved approximately 18,000 lineal feet of existing water main including some asbestos cement (AC) pipe.

In conjunction with the project, DCG was tasked with pursuing project funding through the Washington State Department of Health Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Loan program. As a prerequisite for funding qualification, DCG completed a full Water System Plan following Washington State Department of Health criteria. Upon receipt of funding, DCG prepared construction plans and specifications for the project and oversaw the public bidding process. DCG provided construction phase inspection for both the water main and treatment plant installation and oversaw general project management through project completion. Construction cost was approximately $1.4 Million.

Well/Reservoir Site Improvements - Freeland, Washington

Bayview Beach Water DistrictDCG was contracted to provide design and construction phase engineering services for the construction of two 119,000 gallon concrete reservoirs, construction of a 250 gallon per minute iron and manganese treatment facility, rehabilitation of two existing groundwater wells and installation of associated site piping.

DCG prepared a project report following Washington State Department of Health guidelines and upon project approval finalized construction plans and specifications. DCG oversaw the public bidding process and provided construction phase inspection and general project management through project completion.

Well #3 Project Report and Source Approval - Freeland, Washington

Freeland Water DistrictDCG assisted the District with the planning, development, approval, design and construction of a new source for the expanding water system. DCG prepared supporting documentation, such as Well Head Protection Plan, capacity calculations and water rights research.

The project culminated in the source approval for the new well, and the design and construction of facilities to bring the new well and adjacent reservoir on-line. In the planning phase for the new well, DCG also assisted with processing the water right amendment with Washington State Department of Ecology.
