91st Avenue and 4th Street Improvements

Client: City of Lake Stevens

To enhance the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists, to promote pedestrian and bicycle mobility, and to improve overall community health, this project addressed the gap in facilities along a school’s frontage property by adding a bike lane, planter strip, and sidewalk.

The project provided the design and installation of 875-LF of 5-ft-wide sidewalk, 4.5-ft-wide planter strip, curb and gutter, and 5-ft-wide bike lanes along the frontage property of Hillcrest Elementary. ADA compliance curb ramps were also included at the northeast corner of the intersection of 91st Avenue and 4th Street. Retaining walls were built to minimize right-of-way acquisition needs.

DCG provided preliminary and detailed design, plans, specification, cost estimates, coordination efforts with relocation of utilities and underground power facilities, inspections, and construction oversight.
